BEEF-STYLE MUSHROOM BURGER


INGREDIENTS:

For the mushroom sauce:

250g Denny Fresh Brown mushrooms, sliced

2 Tbsp butter

2 tsp fresh thyme leaves

2 cloves garlic, finely minced

1 cup / 250ml cream

For the burger and bun:

2 tsp olive oil

4 Denny Beef Style Patties

1 Tbsp butter, melted

4 burger buns

To serve:

Red onion, sliced

Crunchy lettuce

Mayonnaise

French fries

METHOD:

For the mushroom sauce:

- In a saucepan over medium heat melt the butter and add the mushrooms. Cook until mushrooms are golden brown and have released most of their liquid. Add the fresh thyme and garlic. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Add the cream and reduce until the sauce thickens, 3-5 minutes. Set aside for burger assembly.

For the burger and bun:

- Preheat a cast iron skillet over medium high heat. Brush the olive oil evenly on the skillet. Add the patties and sear on both sides until golden brown and hot all the way through. Remove the cooked patties from the skillet and set aside.

- Reduce heat to low and brush the inside halves of each bun with melted butter.

- Toast the buns in the skillet until golden brown.

To assemble the burgers:

- Spread a generous amount of mayonnaise on the bottom of each bun. Add lettuce and place the patty on top. Top the patty with mushroom sauce. Add the red onions and the top of the bun.

- Serve Denny burgers alongside crispy hot chips.
